With the UK modified car show calendar constantly increasing, we were questioning whether it was worthwhile introducing yet another full-on show into the scene... however, we liked the idea of building something smaller, more chilled, and of high quality. Bring on the Slam Sanctuary Breakfast Club. Believe it or not, we weren't even thinking of hosting an automotive event this year! It was only when our good friend Olly Snow introduced us to the venue, Bursledon Brickworks Industrial Museum in Southampton. We decided to check it out, and our minds were sent into instant spirals of possibilities. "Yeah, we can do something cool here" is what we were thinking. It was a quirky location, with lots of areas throughout that we were envisioning parking cars and bikes. After some discussion, the Brickworks agreed to let us take over their venue for a morning. Again, thanks to our knowledge of the show scene, we know that people often get bored way before most events finish, so we decided to run the event 9am - 1pm. Due to the size of the place, we decided to implement 'application only' ticketing for cars on display - we didn't want to cause any traffic issues around the nearby residential area and we preferred to keep the cars to a high level.
'Chilled' is probably the best word to describe how the morning panned out, and that means it was a success. We added some touches, including great coffee, plenty of breakfast food, a DJ, and prizes. We couldn't have done it without the support of our sponsors, so big thanks to The Wheel Specialist Fareham, Air Lift Performance UK, Rotiform UK, Car Audio & Security, Kustom Kolors, Meguiar's UK, Attitude Cycles, Players Shows, Studio Incar, and Jimmy's Iced Coffee.
So, are we planning to do another one? Hell yes! Keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, check out our highlights from the event:
